SUMMARY:The Royal Canadian Slovak Branch #129 through the Thunder Bay Legions Southside Poppy Fund donates $20\,000 to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Slovak Legion Branch #129’s Southside Poppy Campaign Supports Local Healthcare in a Big Way!\n\n\nThe 2023 Poppy Campaign is out in full force leading up to Remembrance Day this Saturday\, November 11th. The Royal Canadian Slovak Legion Branch #129 runs the south side campaign and asks that community members remember our Veterans and wear a poppy. Your donations support community causes. \n\nProceeds from last year’s Poppy Campaign supported local healthcare in a big way. The Legion donated $20\,000 to the Health Sciences Foundation\, including $10\,000 to support the replacement of one of the Cath Labs and $10\,000 for the Lions Vision Care Centre for a vital piece of ophthalmic equipment. \nThe Cath Lab plays a crucial role in angiograms and angioplasties\, while the Zeiss Opmi Lumera 700 is essential for intricate ophthalmic surgeries like cataract removal.Show your support and thanks to our Veterans. \nWe encourage our community to support the ongoing 2023 Poppy Campaigns. Remember to proudly wear a poppy as a tribute to all who fought\, and those who continue to serve as part of the Canadian Armed Forces\, and those who died to ensure we have the freedoms we do in Canada today! \nThe Royal Canadian Slovak Legion Branch 129 Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held at the Slovak Legion on November 11\, 2023\, in our Legion Main Hall starting at 10:30am. The Royal Canadian Slovak Legion Branch 129 Remembrance Day Ceremony is indoors and fully accessible. \nThere are also Remembrance Day Ceremonies at Fort William First Nation\, the Fort William Gardens\, and Waverly Park on November 11\, 2023. \nWe Will Remember Them.
